Annuals
An annual completes its life cycle in one year. Some will re-seed the
following year, but are not considered a perennial because the original
plant dies. A biennial is supposed to take two years to bloom, set its
seed and die.
This category includes plants that provide color for just one season.
Most annuals fill in quickly and make an attractive display within weeks
of planting. Most of these plants will bloom continuously throughout the
season.
Some are very fragrant, and many make excellent cut flowers for fresh
or dried arrangements.
